Senior Membership

Whitlam's New Health Club

As we get older it is becoming increasingly apparent through sustantiated research that we need to keep mobile to ensure a great quality of life. As such, we've created a heavily discounted, full access membership for all of our members who are aged 50 years and over - and as with all of our memberships, there's no lock-in contract.

Your Senior's Membership includes the following:

Free Exercise Guidance

Our qualified trainers are here to help. Let us prescribe you an individualised exercise program to help you get on track to achieving your goals. We'll help you perfect your technique and learn how to get the most out of every single workout! Did we mention this is FREE as part of your membership?

Group Exercise

We run specialised seniors group exercise classes each week, known at Gold Total. They are a full body workout focussing on strength, fitness, balance and coordination to ensure daily activities remain achieveable as each birthday passes.

Each week you'll also find in excess of 40 group exercise classes timetabled each week. Classes include LesMills favourites, such as BodyPump and BodyBalance, aquatic classes like AquaAerobics, as well as freestyles classes. We can help you slect classes suitable to your needs.

MYZONE at Whitlam

We are also a MYZONE equipped Health Club, which means that with our MYZONE (TM) heart rate montiors (on sale in club now) you can track exactly how hard you are training and watch your live heart rate on our TV's, located in both of our group exercise studios, on our gym floor and in Coaching Zone. It also allows your trainers and exercise advisors the ability to see exactly how you are tracking to ensure that you are well on your way to achieving your goals.

Health Club FAQs Expand all

What do I need to bring to the gym?

We have a no towel, no workout policy, which means you must bring a towel with you on each visit, to sit on and use to wipe down the equipment you use after you are done using it.

You need to wear closed in runners/shoes to protect your feet.

Wear comfotable, non-restructive clothes to exercise in. T-shirts, tights, shorts, singlets and the like are perfect training wear.

I've never been to a gym. Is there someone who can help me?

Yes! We have qualified trainers on the floor who can help you at all times. We also give you 5 free sessions with us so we can guide you through exercise and write you a program you can follow when you come in. Check out our Face to Face program for complete details on our free exercise guidance service.

How old do I have to be to join the Health Club?

Children as young as 11 are welcome to join Whitlam Health Club. We have a specialised membership called Teen Gym which shows teens how to exercise safely and effectively. We also offer Teen Gym sessions each week with a Personal Trainer - subject to availability.

How long is the membership contract?

We do not have lock-in contracts, so you can stay as long or as little as you like.

I'm a senior - is there a discount?

Yes! We offer significant discounts for those 50 years of age and above.

Do I need medical clearance?

Seeking medical advice is a great idea before starting any exercise if you are new to exercise and have had health concerns in the past, or even now.

If you are unsure of whether medical advice or clearance is necessary for your situtaion please have a chat to one of our friendly, qualified trainers. We can help you get started safely once we chat with you.

Do you have a weights room?

Yes! We have a comprehensive weights area including a rig and bumper plates, plus machine weights, cables and free weights. Everything you need is right here.
